Furnace Ceramics was started by three siblings who grew up in their father's tile business — watching him source, make, sell, and install small-format tiles across Sydney.

We saw firsthand what it took to get anything beyond a standard tile in Australia - months of back-and-forth with overseas producers, long lead times, and headaches, to say the least. So we built Furnace Ceramics to make it here, to order.

Every order starts in our workshop in Sydney's inner west. We own a glazed production line — 42 running colours, flat and 3D profiles, custom colours — making us the only glazed ceramic manufacturer in Australia producing complete wall schemes, edges included. 

For porcelain, we work with a sixth-generation family-run factory in France with over a century behind them — the same maker our father built a relationship with over 40 years ago. We receive the loose tiles and assemble the pattern in our Sydney workshop.

Everything is made to order, to your exact specification. And because we work alongside the people making your tiles, nothing gets lost in translation.
